Summer Community Show 2026

Exhibit Days : Thursday July 23 - Saturday, August 8, on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays 1- 5 pm
(WAG will be closed Sunday August 9)

The show is free and open to the public at the WAG gallery, 1740 Main Road, Westport, MA

All Artists, WAG members, and nonmembers are invited to participate in the 2026 Summer Community Show at the Westport Art Group. Artists may exhibit 2D and 3D artwork including painting, drawing, collage, mixed media, pastels, photography, sculpture, pottery, woodworking and metalwork. Proceeds from the show fund our programs and support the arts in our community.

There is no theme this year, just a celebration of sharing our artwork at WAG’s beautiful Art Gallery.

Criteria for artwork for this show:

• You may submit one or two artworks: pictures, sculpture or fine craft, 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional, in any media including photography. ***If you donate a 5x7 painting for the raffle, you may submit an extra, small sized 2D artwork. Please see details below.***

• Entries must be your original work, not a reproduction or copy of another work.

• Artwork should have been completed by you and not previously shown at WAG.

• Your artwork should be submitted for sale (25% commission). You may list one of your paintings as not for sale, just be sure to specify the price or “NFS”.

• Work must be properly framed and wired for hanging on a wall. (Sawtooth hangers are not allowed. Art work not properly wired will not be shown. Please have your name, address, phone number, title, and price on the back of each work.

• Size limits:
  2D Work: No more than 48” in either direction and no more than 25lbs, including frame.
  3D work: No more than 30” in either direction. If over 25 pounds, the artist must be at WAG during hanging day to set the piece up.

• BIN ART: Artists submitting artwork wall entries may also add up to 2 bin entries at no additional fee. Bin art is not registered on line but will be registered at drop-off by the artist. All bin art must be wrapped in plastic and clearly labeled on the back with artists name, email, phone, title and medium. Bin art can be reproduction prints, but it needs to be clearly stated on the label.

• WAG reserves the discretion to not show a work, including, for example, a work that does not meet the above criteria.

Please DONATE a 5x7 painting for our SMALL PAINTING RAFFLE:

• We ask that you donate one unframed 5x7 original painting for the Small Painting Raffle Wall. All WAG artists are invited to participate whether or not you enter the show. Artwork on paper must be matted or mounted. WAG can matte a limited number of 5X7” works on paper.

• The 5x7 painting does NOT have to be registered in the registration form.

• Drop off can be done in box in the kitchen any time before July 23 when WAG is open -or raffle painting drop off can be with show entry.

• The Raffle Drawing will be on Aug 8 at 3:15 pm.

• AS A THANK YOU FOR DONATING, you may enter one extra painting into the show—a small painting on a panel under 12x12” and priced for sale at $150 or less. These extra paintings will probably be set up in the lobby— we want to provide visitors a choice for small paintings: enter the raffle and/or purchase a small painting. No extra entry fee to submit (beyond donating a 5x7), but limit 1 per artist. THE EXTRA PAINTING MUST BE REGISTERED ON THE REGISTRATION FORM.

Volunteer to Gallery Sit:

Entry Fees:

• The Members entry fee is $20 for one or $25 for two artworks, subject to a $15 discount if you volunteer to gallery sit on at least one day. Discount code at registration is PICTURE.

• Non Members entry fee is $30 for one or $35 for two artworks

• WAG scholarship recipients pay no entry fee.

Awards:

A “People’s Choice” award, will be presented based on votes by people visiting during the show. The award will be given at 3:45 pm on Saturday, August 9th.

Artwork drop off and pick up:

DROP-OFF : Hand delivered only. Your artwork, once registered online, and the entry fee must be dropped off at WAG, 1740 Main Road, Westport Point, MA, on Monday, July 20, 12:30-2:00 PM or 4-6PM. As we are hanging the show the next day, Tuesday morning, July 21, NO LATE ENTRIES CAN BE ACCEPTED.

5x7's donated for the raffle can be dropped off anytime WAG is open BEFORE JULY 23, box in kitchen.

PICK-UP : All unsold artwork must be picked up when the show closes on Saturday, August 8 at 4:30-5 PM, or on Monday, August 10th, between 4-6 PM. Works not picked up within one week may be subject to a storage charge. Works left over 30 days become the property of WAG.

LEGAL: Upmost care will be taken handling artwork, but WAG is not responsible for loss of or damage to artwork.

Online entry registration will be open until Tuesday, July 14.

No image uploads are required. The entry fee is payable with cash or check at drop off, or with credit card online. Registration will not complete unless you click on “basket” and then receive a confirmation email. If you don’t receive a confirmation email, try again. Registration Instructions:

The entry fee can be paid during online registration by credit card or at drop off, payable with cash, check or credit card. Each artist may submit up to 2 pieces (plus a bonus small if donating a 5x7).

Note that WAG registration is a three-step process:

1. Online entry below. No image uploads needed for registration. Select your choice in the appropriate drop down box and click Add to Cart to fill out the registration form.

2. Then you must go to your cart, even if you chose “pay at drop off”. Your registration will not be completed if you skip the checkout process.

   
   For members paying online, there is a $15 fee-reduction for gallery sitting. To receive your discount: At checkout, enter the code PICTURE in the Discount box BEFORE completing check out. This will give you $15 off your registration fee. The discount is not available after you complete check out.

   
   Follow the prompts to complete the credit card payment. If you are on an IPhone, the Cart is a very small icon at the very bottom of the page. You will need to click on the Apple to pay.

3. Check your email for registration and payment confirmation. If you did not get an email confirmation, you are either not registered or have submitted an invalid email! If this happens try registering again. If you still have problems contact Bossbandbob@gmail.com.
