“Journeys”

A Judged Open Exhibition

April 23 to May 10, Thursdays thru Sundays, 1 to 4 pm

The last weekend will be in collaboration with and promoted by the Artweek SouthCoast festival calendar.

The Westport Art Group invites members and non-members to consider the theme: “Journeys."

- A literal road trip or migration

- Your artistic journey from sketch to finished piece

- Personal growth, life transitions, or inner discovery

- Cultural crossings, spiritual quests, or emotional terrain

This is your chance to show work that captures movement, change, and exploration. This show will be judged for prizes only. All acceptable work submitted will be shown.

Entry Guidelines…

2D size not to exceed 36” x 36”, 3D size under 24”x24”x24”
Wall-mounted work must be no larger than 36” x 36” (including the frame), framed or gallery-wrapped, and ready to hang with a wire.
No sawtooth hangers.
Diptychs and triptychs can be no larger than 36” x 36” – including space between the art pieces.
Entries must be your original work, not a reproduction, AI generated, or copy of another artwork.
WAG reserves the discretion to not show a work, including, for example, a work that does not meet these criteria.

USE OF IMAGES: Any artwork submitted may be used for marketing and promotional purposes directly related to this show. This use may include publication in any publications, printed materials, advertisements, or electronic media. Copyright and all other rights remain that of the artist.

Entry Fees:

Members: $20 for one entry, $25 for two entries.
Non-members: $35 for one entry and $40 for two entries.
Members can have a $15 fee reduction for gallery sitting. We encourage artists to sign up for gallery sitting through SignUpGenius. Click here to sign up for gallery sitting.

Registration Instructions:

The entry fee can be paid during online registration by credit card or at drop off, payable with cash, check or credit card. Each artist may submit up to 3 pieces under any of the options they choose to participate in.

Note that WAG registration is a three-step process:

Online entry below. No image uploads needed for registration.
For members, there is a $15 fee-reduction for gallery sitting. To receive discount: At checkout, enter the code PICTURE in the Discount box BEFORE completing check out. This will give you $15 off your registration fee. The discount is not available after you complete check out.
Then go to the cart and complete credit card payment, per the online Instructions. If you are on an IPhone, the Cart is a very small icon at the very bottom of the page. You will need to click on the Apple to pay.
Check your email for registration and payment confirmation. If you did not get an email confirmation, you are either not registered or have submitted an invalid email! If this happens try registering again. If you still have problems contact Bossbandbob@gmail.com.

Artwork Dropoff:

All art must be delivered in person. Name of work, name of artist, address, and phone, email must be affixed to the back of each piece. Only work that has not been previously shown at WAG will be accepted.

Delivery of art Thursday April 16, 12:30-1-30PM and Friday, April 17 4-6 PM to The Westport Art Group at 1740 Main Road, Westport MA 02790. Art will not be accepted after these times. The entry fee, if paid at drop off, is payable with cash, check or credit card.

Pick up:

All unsold artwork must be picked up when the show closes on Sunday, May 10, 3:45-4:15 PM or on Monday, May 11 between 4:00 and 6:00 PM. or by prior arrangement. Works not picked up may have a storage fee, and within 30 days becomes the property of WAG. Your artwork should be submitted for sale (25% commission). If you so choose, only one painting can be” not for sale,” just be sure to specify “NFS.”

Judged Awards

The juror for this exhibition will be David Barnes. David is a BCC and UMASS Dartmouth Visual Art professor and painter, whose powerful landscapes explore spaces in transition.
